Saturday 28 January 2023 – Castellar de la Frontera

No rush today as we've decided to stay here for the weekend. With Spain being even more crowded getting onto a site of almost any kind at the weekend is getting frustrating so as we've got everything we need, the weather is good and we've got a nice pitch why bother?

So after breakfast the days chores amounted to emptying the grey waste and refilling the water tank – the repair we made before leaving home is still holding fine, keep fingers crossed! We're not supposed to put chairs or camping things out and nobody else is either so we'll stick to a collapsible stool and Jamie on his mat to get our dose of vitamin D. The aire is full and we've noted a few vans parked in the side street who nobody seems to be too concerned about. There is a big space right next to us but it has a yellow no parking line and strangely everyone is taking notice of it – suits us 'cos that's where our sunshine is coming from!

The rest of the day we spent with hobbies, walking the dog and generally enjoying the peace and quiet. Just a quiet niggle in the back of our minds is that by now we must be getting low on gas; both gauges are in the red but all that signifies is that they are less than half full. Stupid useless gauges. However our gas control problem isn't getting any worse so hopefully we'll be okay. We have done a check and found a Truma service agent just a few hundred yards from where we thought we might settle down for a week next week.

We've brought a few videos with us and have started watching a US police series “The Rookie”, all about a 40yr old guy starting a new life as a cop after familiar life losses. It's very good and we wish we'd brought more as it's now up to series 5 on US TV.
