Sunday 29 January 2023 – Castellar de la Frontera to Algeciras

As the title suggests a change of plans. Up late as it's warmer in bed (so we use less gas!) Sunday means Full English |Breakfast although it was practically lunchtime by the time we'd eaten. Then the gas bottle ran out; fortunately there was still some left in the other bottle but obtaining gas is now a priority as the forecast is still for lower than normal temperatures.

So after breakfast we decided to pack things up, service the van and go get some gas. Then as it's extremely unlikely we'd be able to get back on here we'd return to Algeciras, fill up with cheap fuel and overnight with the Morocco-bound lot that stay on the retail park car-parks before resuming our perambulations.

We're now settled next to the big Mercadona supermarket where we'll top up a few groceries in the morning and it's started to rain. A check of the forecast shows some local showers here for the next 18 hours but that doesn't bother us much as the temperature appears to be holding up too. We've emailed the campsite near Cadiz to see if we can make a reservation for 7 nights, maybe longer, and intend to drive up there tomorrow, it's no more than two hours away.

The good news is the gas control seems to be working correctly so hopefully it's sorted itself out. But if we have any more problems help should be on hand from the local Truma agent.
